Cincinnati Public Records at Hamilton County

The Hamilton County Clerk of Courts is the official record keeper for the adult justice system in Cincinnati. Clerk Pavan V. Parikh leads the office. Deputy Clerks handle all legal documents filed through the Municipal Court, the Court of Common Pleas, and the 1st District Court of Appeals. The office also processes auto titles, watercraft titles, and passport applications.

The Hamilton County Justice Center is at 1000 Sycamore Street, Cincinnati, OH 45202. The Criminal/Traffic Division is on the 1st Floor. Phone is 513-946-6010. Hours run Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. for the Criminal/Traffic Division. Bond services are available 24 hours a day, every day of the year. The office launched a new search tool called Acclaim from Harris Recording Solutions. You can search grantor and grantee deed indexes, registered land deed information, and over three million images of registered land documents. The historic search includes deed books from 1794 through 1903, mortgages from 1794 to 1898, mortgage releases from 1794 to 1905, and veteran discharge records from 1794 to 1965. That depth of historic records is unusual for Ohio counties.

Birth and death certificates for Cincinnati are available through the Cincinnati Health Department or the Hamilton County General Health District. Certified copies cost $25.00. The Ohio Department of Health also offers statewide vital records for $21.50 per search.

The Hamilton County Probate Court handles marriage licenses, estates, guardianships, adoptions, birth corrections, and over 80 other services. Judge Ralph Winkler leads the court. The Probate Court records search lets you look up case dockets, marriage license indexes going back to January 1974, and archived records from 1791.
